reading unlocked review

Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way.

We received 12 months of access to Reading Unlocked and have been using it for just over a month now. Reading Unlocked is an online learning to read program that helps children learn how to read using words through phonics, auditory and visual techniques.

We have been using it almost every day! My little one can do the program by herself, with the exception of reading a poem at the end. Which we read together. It only takes about 10 minutes to complete and it’s personalized to review words at her level.

My kindergartner loves to use this program because she can work independently. It’s like a game and she often wants to keep playing after the lesson is over. I asked her what she enjoys the most about the program and she said she likes changing the 3 letter words to make new ones.

I try to limit screen time and technology at our house but this program is something we can meet in the middle on. When she asks, “Can I play a computer game?”, I usually say no. However, if she asks to play Reading Unlocked, I say yes! I can see her practice writing and sounding out words while using the program and I know she is enjoying learning.

I am so grateful we received the subscription to Reading Unlocked. It is a fun part of our homeschooling and I recommend it for children who are starting to learn how to read words and simple sentences.

My son asked to do Reading Unlocked, too. He also enjoyed changing the words to new words.
