Baby Butt Balm

As we are getting excited and ready for baby #3, we want to be prepared for everything including diaper rashes!

I am not a huge fan of the usual diaper rash creams and lotions, because they’re often full of chemicals, preservatives, and scents that I am not comfortable putting on my own body let alone a precious little baby.

Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of good, safe choices out there, but I thought it would be fun to make our own.

Plus, we already make a nice lotion for dry and cracked skin that would work great. However, for a baby, I want to have a nice balm that’s thick and will protect their skin longer.

Needless to say, we made this Butt Balm and we love it!

We made our first batch about three weeks ago and we have been using it quite often! I use it for my huge prego belly, tired feet, and dry hands. My kids use way too much of it all over, because well… that’s what they do.

Anyway, as we are about to make a new batch, I thought I better share our recipe!

So here it is:

Baby Butt Balm DIY

You Will Need:

1/2 cup of coconut oil

3 Tablespoons of Beeswax Pebbles, Pellets, or Pieces. Like these: HERE (affiliate link, see disclaimer)

5-10 drops of Baby-Safe essential oils like Lavender or Frankincense.

6-ounce jar or container.

How To Make It:

  1. On a stove, add coconut oil and beeswax to a small pan.
Melting Pot

2. Heat on low, stirring continuously until it’s all melted together.

3. Remove from heat and let it cool down for a couple of minutes. (Still needs to be a liquid.)

4. Add essential oils and stir.

5. Pour into your jar or jars and let cool for a few hours or overnight.

6. Try your balm!

Pretty simple right?

This balm is not only great for butts, it’s also great for damaged or dry skin.

Disclaimer: like any other balm, it can feel greasy and take a little time to soak into your skin. Personally, I like the greasy feel as it protects, nourishes, and softens skin for a longer time, but it’s not for everyone.

I hope you enjoyed this recipe!

Have a wonderful day!
