Baked Beans

I am NOT a Baked Bean person!

I made this recipe for my bean loving family and to my surprise I LOVED it!

So I have to share and I will be saving it my daughter’s Cookbook.

BACON: I used Hormel’s Nitrate Free bacon for this recipe. I used half of the pack for this recipe and the remaining half in a potato salad. I know 1/2 can be inconvenient but maybe you want to use the remaining for breakfast or something creative. You can skip the bacon but you will need to grease your pan.

BEST BAKED BEANS EVER

I have never had beans this good!

Ingredients

  • 1 Onion
  • 1/2 Package Bacon
  • 3 T Maple Syrup
  • 2 T Molasses
  • 1 T Mustard
  • 3 Cans of White Beans Pinto, Navy, Cannellini, White Kidney
  • 1 T Worcestershire Sauce

Instructions

  • In a pan, fry bacon until cooked and crispy on medium heat.
  • Chop up your onion into small pieces and add it to the cooked bacon. Frying it in the grease until translucent.
  • Drain the water from 2 cans of the beans and leave the water in one can.
  • Turn your stove down to low and add remaining ingredients. Stirring and watching it for about 10 minutes.
  • When your baked beans are cooked and the beans are soft, remove from the heat and let cool for about 10 minutes.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

When I cooked my bacon and onions, I didn’t have very much grease left in the pan. If you have lots of grease left over, you may want to drain the fat out of the pan before adding the remaining ingredients.
