Hands on History Activity Paks
Disclosure: I received this complimentary product from the Homeschool Review Crew.
With hands-on history products like the Activity-Pak: Old Testament, Home School in the Woods makes history class fun and memorable!
Home School in the Woods offers lots of amazing digital products from States and Wars in the US to Figures and World History. Take a look at this Essential Timeline Library, it’s loaded with projects of 1,444 timeline figures in history! There are so many great options here to add to your studies or dive into learning with these kits as a stand-alone curriculum.
I wanted to work on the Old Testament as part of our Bible study. It’s part of the Activity-Pak category. Each Activity-Pak includes all the digital PDFs needed to print and create a Lap book masterpiece with additional activities.

* You will need some supplies, mostly what you’d find in a typical office or school supply list such as a file folder, markers, white and colored paper, scissors, glue, tape, and staples.
Doesn’t that look fun?
All of the downloads include instructions and pictures of completed products (I’m very thankful for this!).
How We Used It
Each project we’ve done so far takes about an hour for us to complete.
Then, we discuss the topic and read relevant scriptures. It’s nice that many of the projects already have a little research and writing as part of the craft. Being that they are hands-on activities, we have more time to discuss the lesson and tend remember what’s being taught.
Each project is so fun with their unique and diverse functions. Some projects have pull tabs, some have pages to turn, one (Noah’s and the Flood) spins, and others have flaps or doors to open.
Since all of the projects within this Pak are designed to be put together in a single folder to create a lap book, we can keep all our work in one place. I often feel overwhelmed with all of our completed crafts and work, but this method helps keep the work together. We can easily pull out the file folder with the pop-up projects and file it again.
I highly recommend using Home School in the Woods for a more hands on experience of history!
