One More Story Review

Disclosure: I received this complimentary product through the Homeschool Review Crew.

Our family enjoys reading and looking at picture books together, so we were thrilled to receive a one-year subscription to One More Story.

It’s perfect for families with young children who are interested in books, beginning to read, and reading with a little help.

When we received the subscription, I looked through the website and saw the library of books and the cutest talking bookworm. I discovered that they have an app available for free and immediately downloaded it.

The website and app are simple to navigate and the bookworm is quite a helpful guide. I looked through the books and selected for the worm to turn the pages, while the story was read to us. Not only did we enjoy the book, but the sound effects, music, and actors who read the story made the experience extra special.

After the first trial, my girls were eager to find and read another book. They were able to use the app without my assistance, but I like to be involved and listen to the stories with them. My five-year-old can read along as the words are highlighted and my 2-year-old patiently watches and listens to each of the stories.

Users can choose whether they want to turn the pages or have them turned for you, and whether you want the story read to you, or if you would like to read them yourself. When the “I Can Read” button is selected, users can read the story and turn pages independently. If a word is too difficult they can tap the word and it is read out loud and moved to a word list to review. Another neat function is the vocabulary list where kids can click on words to find out the meaning. Each book has a unique set of vocabulary words kids can explore.

We used One More Story at home for a relaxing time together, as part of our reading class, and my kids also enjoyed listening to the stories during car rides. As the name suggests, they would often ask for just one more story which was heartwarming to hear.

If you are looking for a new way to share the love of books, this could be what you are looking for. You don’t have to take it from me, click HERE to read more reviews from other families.

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day!
