This e-book uses phonics as a way to reinforce reading. It teaches students how to write beautifully by practicing handwriting with italics.
First of all, I thought this was a great read! It covered a little history of handwriting and styles used. There was so much information I wanted to soak up and use. Letter spacing and tilt, for example, didn’t even cross my mind until I read this book.
Secondly, my kindergartner had lots of quality pages to practice writing. She enjoys practicing letters and would often ask for more sheets. We used this e-book in addition to our regular homeschooling activities about 3 to 5 days a week. While using this book, we would review what we learned last time, practiced writing, sounding out the letters, and using example sentences.
Additionally, I used this e-book to help with my own handwriting. I do not know anybody that has worse handwriting than myself. I got a kick out of seeing my handwriting and the examples used in the book. I practiced writing right along with my daughter.
In conclusion, we really benefited from using this book. I learned how to take time out of everyday to read and the importance of writing. Although I still don’t have the best handwriting, I am more aware of how I am writing and put more thought into what I am doing. My daughter’s continuous practice of writing is paying off and looking great.
Perfect Reading, Beautiful Handwriting is for all ages from beginner to advanced writers. I suggest it for anyone who is looking to improve their handwriting or for parents who want help teaching reading and writing. It can be purchased by e-book or paperback.
