Reading eggs

Disclosure: I received this complimentary product from the Homeschool Review Crew.

My kids love using Reading Eggs to learn to read! It’s their favorite part of our homeschool curriculum.

What is Reading Eggs?

Reading Eggs offers so many fun categories and activities for students that it would be hard to list all that is offered, but I’ll list a few special things.

First, I like my kids to focus on the lessons. There is a variety of lessons on designated numbers on a map that take the student around a park or area. They are fun and engaging with memory games, wheels, and lots of educational games. The lessons gradually get harder as the student learns and practices new concepts, letters, or words. As kids complete their lessons, they earn eggs.

Secondly, kids can use their earned eggs to play games and purchase virtual items in the plaza. This is a great motivator for kids to complete their lessons! My kids are so excited when they earn enough points to play a game. When they run out of eggs, they have to work on their lessons to earn more. It’s awesome!

Lastly, Reading Eggs has so many extra features. On the main menu of the game, students can easily look at their awards, shop with their eggs, work on puzzles, play games, read stories, listen to songs, and more. As a parent, I am comfortable letting my kids have the freedom to adventure wherever they want to in this game. It’s educational, safe, and fun.

Our Experience

My 3-year-old started with Reading Eggs Jr since she wasn’t able to recognize letters yet. She could listen to songs, watch videos, look at books, work on puzzles, and play activities here. The letter songs are our favorite! They’re so cute and catchy!

As she was able to start recognizing letters, we moved her over to Reading Eggs. In the reading Eggs game, She is currently learning to recognize letters by their sounds and I am so impressed with her progress! She can now sound out and find some three-letter words!

I have a 7-year-old who enjoys reading but looks forward to playing the fun games on Reading Eggs. She graduated from reading eggs to reading express which has been helpful with reading comprehension.

She has a long history of Reading Eggs and it’s her favorite way to learn. She loves playing the games on Reading Eggs, Fast Phonics, Mathseeds, and now Reading Eggspress! From the way she interacts with the games, laughs, and learns through these programs, I’ll be keeping Reading Eggs for her and her siblings for years!
