Story Smarts

Disclosure: I received this complimentary product through the Homeschool Review Crew.

If you are looking for a way to help your student with reading comprehension, check out Story Smarts from Reading Kingdom.

This program has short stories that kids can either read or listen to followed by comprehensive questions. The questions include retelling the story, discussing the main idea, sorting pictures, and listing the order of events.

story example
An example of one of the stories.

My 6-year-old daughter has been reading 3-5 of these stories a week. Each day, she spends around 20-30 minutes reading and completing the questions. She likes being able to retell the story with the pictures and sentences provided.

Prior to this program, we haven’t introduced her to story building or recognition topics like the main idea. It’s a relief to see her progress so nicely through these new concepts.

Book report

I am thankful that this program is available for young children. It’s a wonderful way for new and beginner readers to learn how to grasp what’s being read.
