The Family Planner

Disclosure: I received this product free through the Homeschool Review Crew.

In the past, I cringed at the idea of family meetings, but with The Family Journal by Byron’s Games, I look forward to them!

The Family Journal is a fantastic book! It sets families up for success with complete instructions examples, prompts, and call to action questions. It includes family planning pages for the whole year with lovely bookmark ribbons to separate the different types of goals.

This book starts with a mission statement and an explanation of why it’s important. I am grateful that we were given multiple pages to think, write, and rewrite the mission statement. Then, it has year goals and prompted discussions. Next, there are monthly goals and accomplishments. Finally, it has the weekly meeting pages that are loaded with great content to get the family motivated.

Family Planner

This journal encourages families to work together and build each other up by using questions that require answers with examples of commitment. I love how the prompts dive deep into the goals and achievements as individuals, as well as, the whole family.

weekly examples

Besides weekly goals and reflections, the weekly planning pages are filled with different activities and fun ideas to do together. Some examples of what we write about include things we are grateful for, things we need to work on, and ways we are accountable to each other. Each meeting ends with a plan for the time and place of the next meeting and an inspirational quote.
