Homemade Mouth Wash

I love to make things myself. I can’t help it. I have this uncontrollable, “oh I can do that” kind of personality. Since I like to live a natural lifestyle its fun for me to come up with new recipes.

This is so simple! I really like that this recipe isn’t too powerful. It’s a nice, light, and refreshing rinse.

Recipe:

In a Jar add the following:

. 1 teaspoon sea salt

. 1 teaspoon baking soda

. 1 packet Stevia or 1 tsp Stevia in the Raw

. 1 cup of water

. 2-6 drops of essential oils.

Put the cap/lid on and shake it.

Now your ready to give it a try!

Tips:

  • You can leave the stevia out but it adds a little sweetness to your mouth wash and surprisingly has been found to support dental health. Xylitol can also be used as a replacement.
  • Get a good quality food grade essential oil. I used 2 drops of tea tree oil and 2 drops of spearmint. Cinnamon and peppermint may be a good flavor as well. Always be careful with essential oils and research what the type of oil is used for especially with kids.

This is a nice article on dental health with essential oils Here.

Have fun creating a refreshing mouth wash!
