Cross Seven

Disclosure: I received this complimentary product through the Homeschool Review Crew.

Homeschooling memory work is easy when using the Cross Seven Ventures – Homeschool Musical Memory Tool from Cross Seven.

We are grateful that we received a one-year subscription to this Musical Memory Tool. Subscriptions can be purchased monthly or yearly and right now they offer a free 1-day trial to see if this is something that your family will enjoy.

With this subscription, we have access to a musical resource for a wide range of subjects including Scripture, Hymns, Timeline, History, Science, Math, English Grammar, Latin, and Geography. Included are musical videos, quizzes, fun links, and a parent dashboard to review your child’s progress.

There are a total of 4 cycles of learning. In each cycle, there are 28 weeks of materials. Every week is packed with songs for each subject to help students (and parents 😉 ) learn and memorize facts.

A really neat bonus that can make learning easier for families, is the convenience of being able to stream the content onto your TV. We do not have a streaming service available, but there are apps or channels for families that do. You can find the app on AppleTV, Roku, and FireTV.

At first, when I was browsing through the memory work, I thought this might be too advanced for my kids. Having a kindergartner and a preschooler, I didn’t want to push them too hard on learning Bible verses or memorizing facts.

Videos

To my surprise, they caught on quickly. We took our time and listened to each song until we could sing along and together we learned Bible verses, Hymns, counting to ten in Latin, and more! Some content is a little more complex for our young family to learn at this time but we played the songs and if anything was hard to understand, I did my best to explain it further. That’s also when I would look into the Fun Links section.

The Fun Links section has loads of great educational content for each subject. The links include different websites that have videos, games, activities, and reading resources to help students learn and comprehend new content. We thoroughly enjoyed the Fun Links and used them alongside the musical memory work for the week.

Fun Links

After we learned a song, I had my kindergartner do a quiz. She loves the fun quizzes provided in this program! It’s her favorite part of learning. The quizzes are made up of games and fill-in-the-blank sentences or problems. She’s kind of a protectionist, so she would retake the quizzes over and over until she got them all right. We used my phone for our lessons and were able to complete most of the quizzes but some of the longer puzzles couldn’t be viewed unless it was on a computer. However, that wasn’t an issue for us at all.

We enjoyed the learning, singing, and games while using Cross Seven Ventures – Homeschool Musical Memory Tool from Cross Seven and I think you will too. If you are interested in learning more, be sure to check out the reviews from other homeschooling families by clicking below!
