Easy Pumpkin Puree

We made our pumpkin puree in a pressure cooker and used an immersion blender to puree it. It was so simple and easy to clean up.

Easy Pressure Pumpkin Puree

This is so simple and easy! This will work with any type of pumpkin or squash.

Equipment

  • Pressure Cooker
  • Immersion blender

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Pumpkin or Winter Squash any variety
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Cloves

Instructions
 

  • Cut the tops off
  • Scoop out the seeds
  • Cut your pumpkin into smaller chunks, around 3"x4" pieces.
  • Put in your Pressure Cooker, use a steamer basket if you have one (We didn't) and add 1 Cup of water.
  • Add desired seasonings, if any.
  • Close and lock your pressure cooker and vent.
  • Cook for 12 minutes.
  • If you don't have a steamer basket, strain excess water from your pumpkin pieces by placing them in a colander.
  • Peel off the skin and hard pieces
  • In a bowl, puree with your immersion blender.

Notes

If you do not have and immersion blender you can puree with a food processer, blender, baby bullet, potato masher or fork if you want an arm workout.
