Handprint Carrot Garden
This Handprint Rainbow Carrot Garden is quick and easy to make.
All you need is construction paper, scissors, and glue.
We decided to do some fun rainy day activities today, and I thought this is too cute not to share.
You can easily make different kinds of vegetables and use this for a learning activity.
We used ours to help my 2 year old learn colors and counting, but I might write spelling words on the carrot for spelling practice for my 5 year old as well.
First, we traced the kids hands on green construction paper and drew out some carrot stalks using multiple colors of paper.
Then, we cut the hands and carrots out and glued them together.
Next, we placed a brown piece of construction paper halfway down on a blue construction paper and planned where we would make cuts to support our carrots. We cut about 1 inch slits, where we want our carrots to be planted, into the brown paper.
Finally, we glued, only the edges, of the brown paper to the blue paper. The kids decorated the carrots while we waited for the glue to dry and then placed them in the slits.
We really liked the fun project. The kids like to take them out and put them back in.
Have fun gardening!

What a fun springtime twist on hand art! I remember when I was little, my big brother taught me how to make hand turkeys similar to those for thanksgiving time 🙂
The little faces on the carrots are so cute!
