Homemade Calzone

I love Calzones!

They are another favorite dinner of mine. All you need is a pizza dough, cheese (preferably ricotta and mozzarella) and any fillings you want. Its pretty simple and a fun change to the same old dinners. Serve with some marinara sauce and smiles!

Calzone

Homemade calzone is easy and a family favorite. Make it with your favorite pizza crust and fillings.
Course dinner, supper

Ingredients
  

  • 1 large pizza dough homemade or bought
  • 1-2 Cups Ricotta
  • 2 Cups Shredded Cheese
  • 1 tsp Garlic
  • 1/2 tsp Basil
  • 1/2 tsp Oregano
  • 1 TBS Olive oil
  • Optional filling and/or marinara to top. pepperoni, sausage, greens, peppers,…

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven 450°
  • Spread out prepared pizza crust dough.
  • In a mixing bowl, Mix together cheese's and spices.

  • Spread cheese mixture on half of the dough. Leaving about 1/2 an inch around the edges.
  • Add any filling you want.

  • Fold your dough over the filling. and pinch the edges to close.

  • Drizzle olive oil on the top or with a basting/pastry brush.

  • Bake for about 20 minutes or until your crust is golden brown.
  • Cut and serve with marinara sauce. Enjoy!
