Ready for Valentines Day?
Valentines Day is such a strange holiday to me. I have never been a fan of it because it seemed unreal, fake, and anything but loving. People will ask what you did or received and you have to come up with a good answer or else they might feel bad for you and maybe you will too.
Now that I am a mom, however, I am super excited to make heart shaped crafts, cards, and treats.
I’m embarrassed to say it, but we have already started making cards. It’s been a fun art class with cutting, coloring, and assembling. I made a book of clever DIY Valentine’s Day cards that we create and can mail out to family.

My daughter really put some time into hers and already gave one away. Her favorite part was making her own envelopes.
In the past, we have made bird feeders shaped like hearts to hang on trees. This was a fun activity and the birds enjoyed it as well. There are just so many ways to get crafty with holidays. Pinterest is loaded with ideas but you can’t go wrong with homemade cards and yummy treats.
With my holiday excitement, I came up with some fun math worksheets for kids PreK-1st grade. How fun will it be to use Valentine themed math problems? You are welcome to use them. Here
They include patterns, basic addition and subtraction, a maze, and number sequence. Sorry, I had to include cutting and pasting activities as well because it just added to the experience.
I hope you are enjoying the new year so far and wish you a great week!

I’m not a big fan of Valentine’s Day, and neither is my husband. We don’t exchange gifts or go out to celebrate or anything! People think we’re crazy, but we show each other how much we love each other daily. I don’t need jewelry to assure me of his love for me! I do like to have some Valentine-themed activities for my kids, though!
