This year we decided to try a couple subscription boxes and I’m liking them.

We bought a Kiwi Crate from KiwiCo. subscription as a Christmas gift for our daughter. The first month, December, we received a fun crate (box) with a workbook and the main project. The workbook was filled with information to help make learning science fun for kids. The Project we did was a Claw Game. I thought it would be a real simple thin project, but it was made out of strings, wood, and used the box it came in to hold the little toys. The next crate we received was a solar system model complete with a cute little light for the sun. Today we worked on a whale sweeper! The materials seem to be decent quality and the ideas are incredibly fun. Science, mechanics, art, and quality family time can’t be beat. We will most likely renew this subscription!

The other subscription box we are trying is the Misfit Market Produce Box. I have only received two deliveries so far but it’s not bad. First, you get to pick from a list of available fruit and veggies for your delivery. Then, you can add additional items such as drinks, snacks, and other groceries. Finally, they send it out in a box on the day you pick. They put all the food in one box so they get mixed up together, but that cuts down on plastic waste. Speaking of plastic, the insulation was made from recycled bottles! I am happy to get such a great variety of organic fruits and vegetables and it seems to be a better deal then when shopping at the grocery store.

Have you tried any new boxes this year? I think each box is a pleasant surprise to open and a fun way to support good businesses.

We haven’t tried any of these boxes yet, but I think my kids would enjoy them! I do Ipsy make up bags, which are fun and I have found some really great products that I have bought and kept using.
