If you are looking for a great children’s devotional, you have got to check out Tommy Nelson Books’ Roar Like a Lion: 90 Devotions to a Courageous Faith.

This book covers tough topics like anxiety, bullying, loss, fear, peer pressure, courage, trust, bravery, and more. It’s authored by Levi Lusko with Tama Fortner and they write the devotions with a fun and encouraging tone that’s suitable for kids 6 to 10 years old.

It’s a hardcover book, published by Tommy Nelson, with 192 thick high-quality pages that are beautifully colored and illustrated.

Each devotional starts with a title or theme followed by a Bible verse, a relatable lesson, and ends with a prayer. They are about two pages in length and have an exciting fact or positive word of encouragement posted on the right side called, “DID YOU KNOW?” or “GET READY TO ROAR!”.

We used this as a nightly devotional. My 6-year-old daughter and I took turns reading it each night before bedtime. Afterward, we would further discuss our thoughts and feelings on what we had read. I liked using this book as a way to talk about life and how to deal with our stress in a positive way. My daughter looked forward to reading the prayers and listening to the fun facts throughout the book.

Needless to say, our family enjoyed reading, Roar Like a Lion: 90 Devotions to a Courageous Faith! I think it would make a great gift for any child!
