Today I want to share The Adventures of Rooney Cruz RINGLEADERS, a bible heroes for girls book from Truth Becomes Her.
I am so impressed with the quality and content in this book! We received The Adventures of Rooney Cruz RINGLEADERS book with a devotional for girls, a coloring book, and a journal for mothers and daughters! Wow! Seriously, this is such a great package for mother’s and daughters!
My 5 year old daughter and I bonded over reading a chapter of the story and followed up with the corresponding devotional and further discussion. Later in the day, my daughter would color in the coloring book and we would write in the journal together. This is a special time we have together to read, talk and build on our faith.
First of all, The Adventures of Rooney Cruz RINGLEADERS book itself is great for girls, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a mother and daughter book. The story encourages girls to have a strong character and to express their emotions in a healthy way. The girl in the story didn’t get what she wanted but she was polite and understanding. I love the positive influences throughout this book. It was written very well with great eye catching illustrations.
Next, the devotional touches on what each chapter is teaching with scriptures that relate. It is a really great devotional for girls. It discusses how God loves and values us and other great topics young girls should hear.
Then, the coloring book is full of images from the story for kids to color. You could easily use this as part of a study to go along with the book, devotional, and journal but I let my little girl color it when ever she wanted to. She wanted to color along with the chapters we were reading anyway.
Lastly, the journal for mother’s and daughters is super cute! I love the idea of a journal that we write in and share. It asks each person to write about what their favorite part of the story is, draw scenes, and free space for whatever our hearts desire. To my surprise, it has colored font throughout the pages.
