I am so grateful that there are online courses for astronomy such as Experience Astronomy: Elementary from Journey Homeschool Academy.
I didn’t know there was a Christian astronomy class for kids!
First of all, I am so glad our family was blessed with this fun course. We have been enjoying the lessons and hands-on activities it offers. The videos are fun and explain complex subjects in a simple and relatable way. Plus they are around 15 minutes long which is just the right time length to keep the young viewer’s attention.
Furthermore, there are 30 lessons in this course. Each lesson includes a video, a recommended reading list, a memory video and flashcards, handwriting practice sheets for both print and cursive, a hands-on activity, and a quiz. I love how each lesson talks about the Bible and how the topic being discussed relates to it.
I look forward to watching the videos. Yes, I know it’s supposed to be for kids but they are actually my favorite show to watch right now. I learn something new in each lesson. I love the neat history lessons, facts, and biblical reminders in each video.
Additionally, my daughter enjoys discussing what she learned from the lesson and the activities that follow. Here’s a picture she drew of where the sun rises and sets at our house and the direction.
In conclusion, if your family is interested in astronomy this class is a must!
